Even though I mainly focus on Norwegian scenery, every now and then I feel like making something a bit more exotic, and then I try to paint animals from far away:), and dream about once being able to go and see them in their natural habitat…

Zebras

Lately I’ve tried portraying a new exotic animal; the zebra. Another fantastic and weird animal, which is impossible not to be fascinated by:)

Nothing can be more devoted and loving than a mother, but at the same nothing can be more dangerous than a mother if something threatens her child… I have felt like this mother on several occations…

Normally I cover the canvas in paint, but on this painting I’ve used a “nature” canvas, which is decorative in it self, so I left the gorillas alone, without any background.

Giraffe family

I love giraffes, they’re just so weird, and have got so many peculiarities… I honestly didn’t know what they really looked like before I started painting all the details… The baby giraffe was actually quite difficult to paint, I was almost about to give up, when the face suddenly appeared, and I just had to back off in fear of ruining it:)

Young giraffe

This is my very first giraffe.
I like to paint only parts of the picture; and I feel that I have achieved what I want if someone afterwards will be uncertain as to weather they’ve seen the face of the adult giraffe…

Moose

Elg

It’s a wild animal alright, although not very exotic… But like the rest of the animals in this page it is quite weird, in an elegant way, and I like weird animals, they fascinate me…
